Tee Off for a Good Cause

Get ready to tee off for a day of fun and fundraising during the annual Kentucky Law Enforcement Golf Tournament. Hosted by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation (KLEMF), the scramble-style tournament will be held at Gibson Bay Golf Course on Monday, Aug. 26, kicking off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded for first and second place, hole-in-one opportunity, longest drive (men and women), closest to the pin and for winning a putting contest. Door prizes will also be given. Lunch will be provided.

“It’s not only a good day to have fun on the golf course, but all entry fees go to the (foundation), said KLEMF Executive Director Drexel Neal.

Since established in 1999 to build a memorial honoring Kentucky officers killed in the line of duty, KLEMF has expanded their efforts to include educational scholarships for peace officers, telecommunicators and their families, as well as emergency and/or medical assistance.

Many agencies who participate have had a coworker or employee who has been supported by KLEMF, noted Neal. Event participation is a great way to pay it forward and “support all KLEMF does for all law enforcement and telecommunicator communities,” he added.

Tournament registration is $80 per person and can be completed the day of the tournament at 8 a.m. To preregister or sign up as a sponsor, call 859-622-8081. Gibson Bay Golf Course is located at 2000 Gibson Bay Drive, Richmond, Ky.
