Passionate Speakers Sought for TALK Conference

Passionate Speakers Sought for TALK Conference

Proposal Deadline is May 15

The Department of Criminal Justice Training’s Telecommunications Section is looking for individuals to present at its annual Telecommunications Advanced Leadership Kentucky conference Oct. 18 to 20. TALK is an in-service course featuring presenters from across the state, who speak on a variety of topics relevant to Kentucky’s dispatch community.

DOCJT invites all members of the law enforcement community to submit proposals to speak during the course, but specifically public safety dispatch professionals who can address issues, concerns, needs and shared experiences in the dispatch community. The DOCJT Telecommunications Section is looking for individuals who can share on a topic about which they are passionate and think can have a direct impact on dispatchers and dispatch center managers and leaders. DOCJT is searching for both peer-to-peer and main conference speakers.

TALK is a 20-hour, supervisory-level course geared toward 911 dispatch communication center supervisors, managers and directors. Speaker presentations will encompass between a one- and four-hour block during the conference. The course will be conducted at Barren River State Resort park in Lucas, Ky.

If you are interested in presenting at the TALK conference, the deadline for proposal submission is May 15, 2017. For more information or to submit a proposal, please contact DOCJT Telecommunications Instructor Amanda Rogers at Amanda.Rogers@ky.gov or (859) 622-8125.
